Pre-Ride and Maintenance Checklist
Before every ride
- Frame and folding points: check for visible damage and confirm any frame, handlebar, and seat-post latches are secured according to your model's manual.
- Wheels and tires: check wheel attachment, visible tire damage, and tire pressure using the specifications for your installed tires and bike. Do not use one pressure value for every model.
- Brakes: check both brake levers and stopping action before setting off. Do not ride with loose, sticking, or ineffective brakes.
- Controls and visibility: inspect the handlebars, throttle, visible cables, lights, reflectors, and bell. Check for a display error before riding.
- Battery: confirm it is secured and has no visible damage. If it is swollen, leaking, or unusually hot, stop using it and contact support.
Periodic maintenance
Use your model's manual for cleaning, chain lubrication, tire specifications, fastener torque, and service intervals. Check again after transport, an impact, or any new noise. If the manual does not state a required adjustment or interval, ask support or a qualified bike technician rather than using another model's specification.
Existing guides cover cable-disc brake adjustment, brake pads, derailleur adjustment, and battery storage. Confirm that the guide matches the parts installed on your bike before starting.
Reference: CPSC before-you-ride checks. Wear a helmet and follow the riding instructions in your bike manual.
